How to request deletion

Cherry Budget does not create a hosted financial account. Your budgets and transactions stay on your device unless you use an optional online feature or write to us. Follow the steps that match what you want removed.

1. Delete data on this device

This is the main way to delete Cherry Budget data. It does not need an email.

  1. Open Cherry Budget.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Erase all local data.
  4. Read the warnings, type the confirmation phrase, and confirm.

That permanently removes the local Cherry Budget copy on that device, including:

  • Your local profile name and local user identifier
  • Budgets, categories, income, expenses, transactions, and recurring or scheduled payments
  • App preferences, currency, onboarding state, and notification settings
  • PIN, biometric-unlock preference, and app-lock settings
  • Free-usage counters and the local Premium access cache

You can also uninstall Cherry Budget. The operating system then removes remaining local app data, subject to any device backup it keeps.

After erase or uninstall, the app returns to onboarding on that device.

2. Delete encrypted backups you created

Cherry Budget cannot delete a backup file it does not store.

  1. Find the encrypted backup file you exported (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or another place you chose).
  2. Delete that file yourself.
  3. Delete any copies you shared.
Keep the backup password private

We cannot open or recover an encrypted backup without it. Do not send us the file or the password.

3. Ask Jase Digital to delete data we may hold

Use this only for information that left your device: optional AI, voice, receipt, or auto-categorise requests, and support messages.

  1. Email info@jasedigital.co.uk.
  2. Use the subject Privacy request.
  3. Say you want Cherry Budget data deleted.
  4. Include the email or Play account you used to contact us, and the approximate dates if you remember them.
  5. Do not attach passwords, PIN codes, full financial records, or backup files.

You can also use WhatsApp on +44 7767 880503 or the contact section at cherrybudget.app/#contact. Email is the best record for a deletion request.

We will confirm when we have deleted or anonymised data we control, or explain if the law requires us to keep a specific record.

What is deleted and what is kept

Data What happens
Local budgets, transactions, profile, PIN, and preferences Deleted when you erase local data or uninstall the app. Jase Digital cannot reach this data while it stays only on your device.
Encrypted backup files You delete them from the storage you chose. We do not host a copy.
Optional AI, voice transcripts, receipt images or text, and auto-categorise text We do not keep these as a hosted transaction history. We delete or anonymise them when they are no longer needed to complete the feature, investigate a service or security issue, or meet a legal hold.
Support emails or messages Deleted or anonymised after we finish the request, unless we must keep a limited record of the request itself.
Premium purchases and subscription status Google Play, the App Store, and Superwall may keep purchase, entitlement, restore, fraud-prevention, analytics, tax, and accounting records. Deleting the app or erasing local data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel in Google Play or the App Store.
Provider security or service logs A processor may keep logs on its own published schedule. Ask us if you need the current schedule for a specific feature.

How long we keep data we receive

  • Local app data: until you erase it or remove the app.
  • Backups: until you delete the files you control.
  • Online-feature content: only while needed for the request, a specific incident, or a legal hold. Then it is deleted or anonymised. There is no hosted copy of your full transaction history.
  • Purchase records: retained by the app store and Superwall as needed for entitlements, restore, fraud prevention, support, analytics, and legal or accounting records.

We do not promise that every processor log is gone within 90 days. If you need a confirmation for a specific request, email us.

Cancel a subscription

Deleting data does not stop billing.

  • Google Play: Play Store → Payments and subscriptions
  • Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions

Restore eligible purchases later with Profile → Restore in Cherry Budget.
